Naruto counters by offering the teachings of their master, who encouraged them to save their land, and proves to Nagato that despite all the pain Naruto has experienced, along with the hurt Nagato has caused, must find a way to end hate. Nagato argues that it is impossible for the world to achieve true peace, that one who does not know pain cannot understand true peace, and that because of the hypocrisy of the greater nations and their control over the majority of the power, the world is cursed to never ending war.
